Self awareness is something we do to recognise our own faults and positives in ourselves and actions. When we have a good self awareness we will thrive in our environments whether that’s your career, home life or intimate relationships. When we have poor self awareness we will have low confidence and struggle in the majority of things in our daily lives. When we are being self aware we will evaluate ourselves and ask could I do that better and if so how, or be happy and accomplished with what we have achieved. There are two reactions we typically do when we are being self aware and something is not quite right, we will look at it and if we see that a change would most definitely have a positive outcome we are likely to make that change but if we are unsure it’s human nature not to want to make that change because of the uncertainty. When we are self aware it makes it a lot easier to communicate our thoughts, feelings and desires and make our personal relationships a lot stronger while when we lack it, it can cause the opposite and be destructive to the relationship. So like anything if we work on ourselves and see how we can change and make ourselves more positive for oneself and others it creates a calmer and happier environment for everyone around yourself and most importantly for you. Self awareness is vital whether you are in the lifestyle or not, but would recommend having a good self awareness level before entering a dynamic purely because this will help you negotiate all the rules and boundaries for those involved whilst expressing your desires limits and safe words etc. This also keeps both safe emotionally and physically within the dynamic as communication is key and trust and respect follows with it, also being self aware helps you to read your partner and be aware of your with them and your responsibilities in that dynamic. Self awareness is something we can work on ourselves and help make ourselves a better us which will enhance your confidence with all you do and self awareness is a large part of emotional intelligence. Self awareness is also a large contributor in how we react to our emotions and situations we can be in, those with a good self awareness typically stay calm and evaluate a situation and try to resolve it where those who can lack it can get distressed or frustrated easily and give up on finding a resolution because the cannot see the positive outcome. Some good ways to improve it is meditation to learn and focus on our inner selves, journaling also can help one I have used is asking many around me who know me there honest thoughts and opinions and listening carefully then go off to self reflect and evaluate what everyone has said, just don’t take there exact words as gospel but it can help guide and nurture your growth. When in a dynamic or In a relationships listen to there words carefully, watch their facial expressions and body language as.
